The city government of Muntinlupa granted zero-interest loans to 208 micro-entrepreneurs described as “Muntipreneurs.”

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the distribution of cheques amounting to P5.3 million to the beneficiaries of Tulong Negosyo program (formerly Dagdag Puhunan) facilitated by the Joint Resource Financing at Muntinlupa City Hall, Brgy. Putatan last September 3.

“The City Government of Muntinlupa vows to support grassroot players through additional capital loan assistance and other capacity building trainings for them to thrive their business in the city,” Fresnedi said.

Tulong Negosyo program caters to SMEs and provides micro finance assistance which ranges from 2,000 up to 150,000 pesos depending on business capital ceiling and payment record.

The program has three categories namely: Simulang Kapital (SIKAP) Pangkabuhayan for clients with capital ranging from 10,000 – 75,000 pesos, Asenso Loan Program for clients with capital ranging from 75,000 – 100,000 pesos, and Maunlad Loan Program for clients with capital ranging from 150,000 – 300,000 pesos.

A Savings Program has been incorporated in the loan assistance to teach clients about the importance of economizing and serve as protection to the clients and the program.

In addition, entrepreneurial education through trainings and other related interventions have been implemented for the beneficiaries.

Last August, the Joint Resource Financing Department partnered with Coca-Cola and TESDA to conduct the Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) program, a series of entrepreneurial lectures for Tulong Negosyo clients.

Further, local entrepreneurs were given training on Integrated Business Licensing and How to Effectively Participate in Trade Fairs through DTI SME Roving Academy (SMERA) and Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO) – Muntinlupa.

For interested individuals, you may coordinate with the Joint Resource Financing at Plaza Central, Brgy. Poblacion with tel. no. 772-3457.

Muntinlupa City is hailed the country’s Most Business-Friendly LGU for 2017-2018 by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
