The number of active COVID-19 cases in Muntinlupa have dropped to a single digit, while five barangays have logged zero active cases as of December 16.

The latest data from the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) showed that as of December 16, the city’s active cases totaled 7, adding 6 recoveries and no new COVID-19 cases for the day. Five out of the nine barangays have logged zero active cases which include Brgy. Putatan, Brgy. Bayanan, Brgy. Alabang, Brgy. Buli, and Brgy. Sucat.

Brgy. Buli has logged zero active cases for 13 consecutive days since December 4, while Brgy. Alabang hasn’t logged any active cases for seven consecutive days since December 10.

The remaining barangay with active COVID-19 cases are Brgy. Tunasan with 1, Brgy. Poblacion with 2, Brgy. Ayala Alabang with 2, and Brgy. Cupang with 2.

In the recent NCR COVID-19 Update report of OCTA Research, Muntinlupa City placed 3rd among Metro Manila cities with lowest ADAR (Average Daily Attack Rate) of 0.37. Muntinlupa has been classified as “Low Risk” along with three other NCR LGUs.

To date, there are 27,596 confirmed cases in Muntinlupa City with 27,010 recoveries, 579 reported deaths, 2 suspect cases, and 90 probable cases.

While the city’s COVID-19 situation improves, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi urges residents not to be complacent and to continue following the minimum health protocols such as wearing of face masks, physical distancing, and washing of hands.

Fresnedi also encourages Muntinlupeños to get vaccinated and underscored the importance of vaccine to prevent the surge of cases due to the Omicron variant. City residents may register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac.

As of December 13, the City Health Office (CHO) announced that 429,918 Muntinlupeños (111.46% of target) have been vaccinated with at least one dose while 365,105 (94.65% of the target) have been fully vaccinated.

Of the total number of individuals vaccinated, at least 17,521 (first dose) and 10,659 (second dose) were inoculated in Muntinlupa private companies. The city has also administered at least 10,970 booster shots for the qualified priority groups.

Further, CHO acting chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi said the city government strengthens the local PDITR V strategy or the Prevention, Detection, Isolation, Treatment, Recovery plus Vaccination in preparation for the possible surge due to the Omicron variant.

Bunyi noted that barangay health emergency response teams were alerted to implement stricter monitoring among minors and the vulnerable sector in the communities.
