DOTr holds meeting on North-South Commuter Railway in Muntinlupa
DOTr, GCR Consortium, and concerned offices from the Muntinlupa City Government held a meeting on March 9 at the City Hall's Audio-Visual Room to discuss the Social Development Program (SDP) and Information, Education, Communication (IEC) for the North-South Commuter Railway Calamba Extension Project (NSCR-ExP).
The aim of the meeting was to develop a framework that would minimize the impact of the NSCR-ExP on society and the environment. The consortium presented their plans for the project and discussed the concerns raised by the local government.
The SDP is a vital aspect of the project as it ensures that the railway extension's impact on the environment and society is minimal. The project aims to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient mode of transportation to commuters and reduce traffic congestion in the area.
The meeting concluded with the development of an SDP framework that will be integrated into the local government's social development program. The framework includes various measures to mitigate the project's impact, such as community engagement, environmental protection, and safety measures.
The NSCR-ExP is a significant infrastructure project that will benefit the commuting public in the long run. However, the government and the consortium recognize the importance of ensuring that the project's impact is minimal and sustainable. With the development of an SDP framework, the project can move forward with the support of the local community and a sustainable future.
