Muntinlupa, LandBank sign agreement for e-payment options
The city of Muntinlupa is truly on its way to be a smart city, leveraging digital payments for more efficient delivery of government services.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) Senior Vice President for Digital Banking Sector Leila Martin, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City Government and LBP to facilitate e-payment services for various programs.
According to Biazon, "This partnership will strengthen our digitalization efforts in order to make transactions in the city more efficient."
The agreement is expected to open additional online payment platforms such as for business permits, taxes, and other fees.
The City Government is also looking to improve its disbursement processes such as payroll services, financial assistance, and scholarship payouts, and Biazon believes that LBP provides the most efficient option for the City in terms of delivery and reliability.
In his recent State of the City Address, Biazon declared that Muntinlupa is currently on its way to a brighter future, by being a smart city that uses technology and efficient processes to benefit the public. For the record, Muntinlupa has posted impressive economic stats in its recovery from the pandemic that it was recently considered one of the top five most competitive cities in the Philippines.
