Muntinlupa places another community under lockdown
Areas under granular lockdown in Muntinlupa climb to 15 as another community in Brgy. Putatan has been placed in tighter quarantine status.
Upon the recommendation of the City Health Office (CHO), Mayor Jaime Fresnedi ordered the imposition of a 15-day Extreme Localized Community Quarantine (ELCQ) at Number 1405, Jaysonville II, Brgy. Putatan starting September 3, 6:00 PM until September 18, 6:00PM upon the recommendation of the City Health Office (CHO).
From one confirmed case last week, the number of residents who tested positive for COVID-19 in the community through an RT-PCR test has climbed to 10. According to Muntinlupa CHO, the attack rate in the area is at 4,761.90 per 10,000 population with a very narrow case doubling time of two days.
The community comprises of 21 residents belonging to six households. Of the total population, there are 2 senior citizens, one PWD, at one aged 0-5 y/o.
Earlier, the local government has also placed Bldg. 18, Rizal St. and Sto. Niño Aplaya in Brgy. Poblacion under ELCQ from September 3, 12:00 noon until September 18, 12:00 noon.
At least 47 new confirmed cases were recorded in the two areas in just one week with a very narrow case doubling time of 2 days. The two communities haven’t logged any COVID-19 case from the previous week.
Brgy. Poblacion capt. Allen Ampaya earlier coordinated with CHO following the reports of COVID-19 cases in the areas. The barangay has undertaken local quarantine protocols for the communities and has provided food packs prior to the imposition of ELCQ.
Muntinlupa CHO is set to conduct a mass swab testing in the affected areas while Muntinlupa PNP is set to enforce total lockdown measures. The City Social Service Department and Barangay will also provide food packs and other basic items for the affected residents during the effectivity of the ELCQ.
Other areas with ongoing lockdown in the city include: Anala Tower (1st, 8th, 9th, 11th, and 14th floor), Anuva Residences in Brgy. from August 31 to September 15, Unira Compound, Sto. Niño, Brgy. Tunasan starting August 29 until September 13, Dizon Compound, Number 22, St. Bernard Street, San Jose Village, Brgy. Cupang from August 28 until September 12, Mahogany St. and Kamagong St. in Villa Carolina 2, Brgy. Tunasan from August 24 to September 8, Building 2, BLISS Complex, Brgy. Putatan from August 23 to September 7.
While areas to have completed the ELCQ are: Building 17 in Filinvest Socialized Housing, Brgy. Alabang from August 19 to September 2, Angelo St., Horrileno St., Endencia St., Paredes St., and Barrera St. in Katarungan Village, Brgy. Poblacion from August 19 to September 2, Purok 3, Molera Compound in Barangay Sucat and Purok 7, Beatriz Compound, De Mesa L & B Street in Barangay Alabang from August 6 to August 27, Block 8, Hills View and Mangga St., Lakeview Homes in Barangay Putatan from August 12 to August 26 and Chico St., Laguerta in Barangay Tunasan under ELCQ from August 10 to August 25.
With the alarming surge of COVID-19 cases in the communities, Mayor Fresnedi urges city residents to exercise extra caution at home and be vigilant. “Lumabas lamang kung talagang kinakailangan. Dagdagan natin ang pag-iingat dahil walang pinipili ang virus—kamag-anak man, kaibigan o kakilala,” Fresnedi said.
As of September 3, Muntinlupa City has 20,954 confirmed cases with 18,107 recoveries, 2,389 active cases, 458 reported deaths, 41 suspect cases, and 3,365 probable cases.
