Muntinlupa to hire more contact tracers
In a bid to effectively manage the COVID-19 situation in the city, the local government of Muntinlupa is hiring additional contact tracers under the DOLE-TUPAD program.
At least 50 contact tracers will be hired by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Muntinlupa through the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
The contact tracers shall be assigned under the Muntinlupa City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) of the City Health Office (CHO) to augment the local contact tracing efforts.

While the city has recorded a decline in active cases, the local government continues to strengthen its PDITR strategy (prevent-detect-isolate-treat-reintegrate) to sustain the improving local COVID-19 situation.
From October 1 to 26, the City Health Office recorded a significant decrease of active cases at -75% from 988 on October 1 to only 250 active cases last October 26.
Meanwhile, the local government has started inoculating minors aged 12-17 years old with co-morbidities at the city-run Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) in Alabang last October 25.
OsMun director Dr. Edwin Dimatatac said 72 minors were vaccinated on the first day last Oct. 25 followed by 126 on Oct. 26 for a total of 198. As of October 25, at least 14,896 minors aged 12-17 year old have registered with the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination program.
Further, around 92 percent of Muntinlupa’s target population have already been vaccinated, translating to more than 640,000 vaccines administered.
MunCoVac reported that as of Oct. 22, the local government has administered a total of 646,730 vaccines. 353,490 individuals have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine or 91.6% of the target, while 297,599 individuals or 77.2% of the target have been fully vaccinated. Of the total number of vaccinated individuals, at least 15,394 (first dose) and 5,474 (second dose) were inoculated in Muntinlupa private companies.
The target population to be vaccinated in Muntinlupa is 385,725 individuals or 70% of 551,036 Muntinlupa’s estimated population for 2020.
