Over 2,000 Muntinlupa minors vaccinated against Covid
As of November 4, the local government has inoculated more than 2,000 pediatric group, or those 12-17 year old with co-mordibities and the general minor population. While the city continues to record a steady decline in the local COVID-19 active cases.
From October 25 to November 4, a total of 2,069 minors were vaccinated at three vaccination sites in Muntinlupa. The pediatric A3 group received their COVID-19 jab at the city-run Ospital ng Muntinlupa, one of the pilot hospitals for the inoculation of pediatric A3 group designated by the Department of Health (DOH). While the general pediatric population, or those without co-morbidities were vaccinated at Ayala Malls South Park and SM Center Muntinlupa, including OsMun.
Of the total vaccinated minors, 742 are pediatric A3 while 1,327 are “well-child” minors or those from the rest of pediatric population. To date, there are 18,507 registered pediatric and pediatric A3 in the local COVID-19 vaccination registration system.
The local government has started inoculating “well-child” minors aged 12-17 years old last November 3 while the pilot inoculation of minors with co-morbidities was conducted last October 25.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi continues to urge parents and guardians to register their children to the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) as protection from the adverse effect of COVID-19.
Co-morbidities eligible for the Pediatric A3 vaccination are as follows: Medical complexity, Genetic conditions, Neurologic conditions, Metabolic/endocrine diseases, Cardiovascular diseases, Obesity, HIV Infection, Tuberculosis, Chronic Respiratory Diseases, Renal Disorders, Hepatobiliary Diseases, and Immunocompromised state due to disease or treatment.
To date, Pfizer and Moderna are the only vaccines with emergency use authorization for 12 to 17 years old issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration to be used for the Pediatric A3 population.
City residents may register online through MunCoVac vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac to receive a schedule. After receiving their schedule, vaccine recipients with their parents or guardians should proceed to the OsMun vaccination site.
A medical certification given by the attending pediatrician/physician detailing the comorbidity of the vaccine recipient shall be secured prior to the vaccination schedule and shall be presented in the registration area during the vaccination schedule. Parents or guardians should also present a valid ID and proof of filiation such as birth certificate.
Meanwhile, the city continues to record a steady decline in the local COVID-19 active cases. From October 1 to November 1, the number of active cases dropped by 82% from 988 to 180.
As of November 4, the active cases further decreased to 147. To date, there are 27,409 confirmed cases in Muntinlupa City with 26,690 recoveries, 572 reported deaths, 126 suspect cases, and 356 probable cases.
